Timothy James Walz (pronounced WAWLZ) was born on April 6, 1964, in Red Wing, Minnesota. He graduated from Mankato State University with a bachelor's degree in geography and social studies education.

Political Career

Walz began his political career as a social studies teacher. He was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2006, representing Minnesota's First Congressional District.
